Clinton Waltz, 48, of Lonnie Watson killed in accident

A head-on crash in Butler County claimed the life of a Newton man and injured another driver on Friday afternoon, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. The fatal collision occurred around 1:10 p.m. on Alabama Highway 106, where a 2013 Kia Optima and a 2012 Ford F-250 pickup truck collided. The Kia driver, 48-year-old Clinton Jeffrey Waltz, was pronounced dead at the scene. The pickup driver was transported to a local hospital with unspecified injuries. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
