A woman from Osceola died in a tragic three-vehicle crash on Monday morning in Mercer County, Missouri. The crash involved a pickup truck, a tractor-trailer, and a Chevrolet Impala driven by the victim.
The crash happened around 7:30 a.m. on U.S. Highway 65, near Mercer. A Ford F-150 pickup truck, driven by a 34-year-old man from Princeton, crossed the centerline and hit a Volvo tractor-trailer going north. The pickup then crashed head-on with the Chevrolet Impala, which was behind the tractor-trailer.
The pickup truck rolled over and went off the road, while the Chevrolet stopped partially on the road. The tractor-trailer managed to stop safely.
The driver of the Chevrolet, 51-year-old Deann R. Dorsey, was killed at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital in Kansas City by helicopter. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
