The driver of a boat that crashed in Biscayne Bay on Tuesday has died, his friends confirmed Wednesday. They said he was a husband and father of two who was testing the boat before buying it from the owner, who was also on board. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) identified the driver as 41-year-old Michael Garcia. He was one of three people who were thrown overboard when the 39-foot Contender boat lost control and turned sharply while speeding near the Black Point Park and Marina. All three passengers were airlifted to local hospitals from the scene. A passenger who survived the crash said the boat had a power failure that made it impossible to steer.
