A collision on K-ville Road early Friday claimed the life of a Lakeland bicyclist, 46, and left a motorcyclist, 43, with a broken neck and multiple fractures. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said the motorcyclist was driving east on K-ville Road around 2 a.m. when he hit the rear tire of the bicycle, which was also heading east. Both vehicles ended up in a ditch on the side of the road. The bicyclist, identified as Randy Westberry, died at a local hospital. The motorcyclist, Christopher Galstad of Lakeland, was in critical but stable condition.
