Roy Lopez, 61, killed in Idaho motorcycle crash

A motorcycle crash on Sunday night claimed the life of Roy Lopez, a 61-year-old man from St. Anthony.

The fatal collision happened around 8 p.m. on State Highway 33 near mile marker 100, according to Idaho State Police.

Lopez was riding his 1998 Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound on the highway when a juvenile driver, who was heading westbound, turned southbound and crossed his path.

The motorcycle slammed into the passenger side of the juvenile’s vehicle, causing severe injuries to Lopez, who was not wearing a helmet. He was transported to a hospital, where he later died.

The juvenile driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not injured in the crash. The incident blocked traffic for about three hours.
