1-year-old child killed in Louisiana semi truck crash

A tragic accident on I-20 in Lincoln Parish claimed the life of a 1-year-old child from Farmerville on September 20. The Louisiana State Police are looking into the cause of the crash, which involved a semi-truck and a Hyundai Genesis.

According to LSP Troop F, the crash occurred around 11 a.m. when the semi-truck, driven by Danny Deason, 50, switched lanes and hit the rear of the Hyundai, which was traveling in the right lane. The Hyundai then spun and collided with the semi-truck’s trailer.

The child, who was not secured in a seat belt, was thrown out of the Hyundai and died at the scene. LSP stated that they do not suspect impairment as a factor, but they collected toxicology samples for analysis as part of the routine procedure.
