A woman who used to visit the Q Mart on North Street and North Foster Drive every night was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Saturday. Quiana Brown, 38, was a friendly person who always had a smile, according to Lorraine, a store employee who witnessed the tragedy.
Lorraine said Brown had just buried her mother and was in need of prayers. She said she and Brown prayed together every night.
On Saturday night, surveillance footage from the store showed that Brown was hit by a gray sedan that fled the scene. She was left lying on the road with her clothes scattered around her.
As she was trying to get up and collect her clothes, Lorraine saw her get hit again by a police car that ran over her twice.
The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating the incident and has not released any details about the driver of the sedan or the officer involved.
