A fatal crash occurred on Friday evening in Mitchell County, Iowa, involving two vehicles. According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident happened around 5:10 pm at the intersection of 480th Street and Ocean Avenue. Albert May, 83, of Stacyville, was driving northbound and failed to yield the right of way to Danielle Funte, 33, of Stacyville, who was driving westbound. May’s vehicle struck Funte’s vehicle on the driver’s side, causing Funte’s death. The State Patrol reported that Funte was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office also assisted at the scene of this accident.
