Ronald Current, 61, of Des Moines killed in Motorcycle crash

A motorcyclist died after colliding with a stalled vehicle on Wednesday afternoon in Des Moines, police said. The crash occurred around 3:51 p.m. on the 1900 block of East University Avenue under Interstate 235. The motorcyclist, Ronald D. Current, 61, of Dubuque Ave was taken to a local hospital with critical injuries, but he did not survive. His passenger, a woman, suffered minor injuries. Police said Current was driving eastbound on East University Avenue when he switched lanes and hit the stalled vehicle. A man who was standing outside the stalled vehicle also sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital.
