Terry Vaske, 49, pedestrian killed at Casey’s General Store

A Cedar Rapids man lost his life after being hit by a car in Fairfax on Friday night, authorities said. The Linn County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as Terry Vaske, 49, of Aossey Ln Cedar Rapids, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash happened at the Casey’s General Store on Williams Boulevard, also known as U.S. Highway 151, around 9:00 p.m. The driver of the car was not injured, but was taken to a hospital as a precaution. The incident is still under investigation by the sheriff’s office, with assistance from the Iowa State Patrol, Fairfax Fire Department, and Area Ambulance Service.
