A fatal collision between a car and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a 47-year-old man on Monday. The York County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Hendry Nunez, a resident of Baltimore County, Maryland.
The crash occurred around 2:45 a.m. Monday on I-83 south, near mile marker 19. According to Coroner Pamela Gay, Nunez was driving southbound when he hit a tractor-trailer that had entered the wrong lane from the exit 19 (Market Street) on-ramp.
The impact sent Nunez’s car over an embankment and flipped it over. The car landed against a tree, where Nunez was trapped inside. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:42 a.m.
Gay said Nunez suffered multiple blunt force injuries that caused his death. She ruled his death as accidental after an autopsy on Tuesday.
