I-495 hit and run kills man in Capitol Heights MD

A fatal hit and run in Capitol Heights early Saturday morning has left police searching for the driver responsible. The incident occurred around 2 a.m. on the southbound lane of Interstate 495 near Richie Marlboro Road, where a pedestrian was struck by a car and pronounced dead at the scene by Prince George’s County Fire Department EMS. Maryland State Police investigators believe the vehicle involved was a 2009 – 2014 Mini Cooper with damage to the right front end from the collision. They are asking anyone with information about the driver or the vehicle to come forward and help them solve the case.
