Shane Cassavant of Glassworks killed in MA construction accident

A construction worker from Lanesborough died on Thursday, Oct. 12, after being hit by a car in a traffic accident. The incident happened around 7:52 a.m. on West Street in Pittsfield, where the eastbound lane was closed for construction. The Pittsfield Police Department said in a press release that Edward Ladouceur, 87, of Pittsfield was driving his 2015 Chevrolet Colorado eastbound when he entered the construction zone and struck Shane Cassavant, 49, who was working on the road. Cassavant was taken to Berkshire Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
