^{A head-on collision in Tate County on Thursday claimed the life of an Olive Branch man and injured a Louisiana woman. According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 4:45 p.m. on state Highway 305 near Peyton Road in Independence. Justin B. Hyland, 28, was driving a 2022 Toyota Camry northbound when he collided with a 2015 Hyundai Sonata driven by Toni D. Matthews, 20, of Livingston, Louisiana, who was heading south. Hyland died from his injuries at the scene, while Matthews was transported to a hospital with moderate injuries. The cause of the crash is still under investigation by the Highway Patrol.}
