A woman from Tekamah died in a two-vehicle crash near St. Paul on Wednesday afternoon, according to authorities. The Nebraska State Patrol and the Howard County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the incident, which occurred at the junction of Highway 92 and Highway 11 around 1:30 p.m. A Texas man driving a Dodge Ram ProMaster van southbound on Hwy 11 ran a stop sign and collided with a Jeep going eastbound on Hwy 92, the sheriff’s office said. The Jeep driver, identified as 60-year-old Mary Wortman, was taken to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. The Dodge driver, 35, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was also hospitalized. Several local fire and rescue units, as well as the Nebraska Department of Transportation, assisted at the scene.
