Caught! Hit-and-run driver who injured NJ pedestrian

A hit-and-run driver who injured a 75-year-old pedestrian in Teterboro on Wednesday morning has been caught and charged, authorities said on Saturday. Tae Lee of Fort Lee was driving an SUV when he hit the victim, who was crossing Industrial Avenue around 4:40 a.m., according to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Moonachie Police Department. The victim, a Paterson resident, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Hackensack University Hospital. Lee fled the scene before the police arrived, but was later arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in serious bodily injury, a third-degree crime. He also received two traffic tickets for leaving and failing to report the accident. He was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court in Hackensack.
