Fatal dump truck crash in Woodbridge NJ

Two dump trucks collided on Friday, September 22, 2023, in Woodbridge, NJ, resulting in a fatal accident. The crash occurred on Port Reading Ave near Lee St, when one of the trucks crossed the center line and hit the other truck head-on. The driver of the eastbound truck, from Woodland Park, was found unconscious at the scene and later pronounced dead at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.

The driver of the westbound truck, a 40-year-old Cranford resident, sustained minor injuries. The crash caused Port Reading Ave to be shut down for about four hours. The police have not yet revealed the identities of the drivers. The investigation is ongoing and more details will be shared as they become available.
