Ivan Makaruha 35 of Burlington NJ killed on electric bike

Officials reported that a car hit an electric bicycle in Burlington, NJ, causing fatal injuries to the cyclist. The victim, 35-year-old Ivan Makaruha of Burlington, passed away on Monday, four days after the crash. Police are still investigating the incident and have not filed any charges as of Thursday morning.

The collision happened around 7:30 a.m. on Sept. 19 on East Pearl Street’s 1100 block. Law enforcement officers flew Makaruha to Cooper Trauma Center in Camden, where he suffered from severe injuries.

The driver stayed at the scene. Police ruled out drugs or alcohol as a factor in the crash.
