A deadly collision involving a car and multiple trucks has shut down the westbound lanes of Interstate 40. The accident, which occurred near Mentmore, west of Gallup, claimed the life of at least one person and involved three trucks, according to New Mexico State Police. The authorities closed Interstate 40 at mile marker 20 and diverted the traffic to the road at marker 16.
The investigation has been completed and the mile markers have been reopened.
