John W. Viviano, Bundy Hollow Rd NY killed by semi truck

The New York State Police in Bath are searching for a white Volvo semi-truck and its driver who fatally struck a pedestrian on I-86 in Steuben County over the weekend.

The incident occurred near Exit 38 in the Village of Bath, either late on Friday night or early on Saturday morning. The driver of the Volvo, which is believed to be a 2019 or newer model, did not stop and fled the scene.

The victim, identified as John W. Viviano, 40, of Sidney, was pronounced dead at the scene by the troopers.

The State Police crash investigators are working to determine the exact time and circumstances of the hit and run. They suspect that the Volvo was traveling westbound on I-86 when it hit Viviano.
