A large SUV hit and killed a senior citizen in the West Village, police said. The victim was Laraine Kleinman, 76, who lived nearby. She was crossing the street at Greenwich Avenue and West 10th Street on Tuesday around 6:45 p.m. when a 2023 Chevy Suburban turned left and crashed into her, officials said. She suffered severe head trauma and died at Bellevue Hospital the next day, police said. The driver, 56, was not hurt and stayed at the scene.
