Mathew Poplawski and Patrick Robinson killed by car in Newfield

A tragic accident claimed the lives of two men on Elmira Road in Newfield, N.Y. on Friday night. Patrick Robinson, 42, of Ithaca, was riding his motorcycle when he skidded on the wet pavement and fell off. Mathew J. Poplawski, 34, of Schenectady, pulled over to help him, but they were both hit by a passing car. New York State Police arrived at the scene around 9:30 p.m. and launched an investigation.
