Michelle Burnham, 59, Youngs Rd, injured in NY crash

A fiery two-car crash in Columbia County claimed one life and left another person fighting for survival on Monday. The New York State Police said the collision occurred around 5:45 p.m. on Route 23 near Ponderosa Drive in Greenport. Both vehicles burst into flames upon impact. Firefighters from the Greenport Fire Department managed to rescue Michelle J. Burnham, 59, of Delanson, Schenectady County, from her burning 2003 Hyundai Elantra. She was rushed to Albany Medical Center with critical injuries.
