Porfirio Blanco Rivera, 59, of Hampton Bays struck by car

On Friday night, a hit-and-run accident in Hampton Bays claimed the life of a local man. The victim was Porfirio Blanco Rivera, 59, who lived in Hampton Bays. He was walking on Springville Road near Montauk Highway when a vehicle hit him and drove away. People who saw the crash and police officers tried to save him by doing CPR. He was taken by ambulance to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, but he did not survive.
