A Copiague man, 47, was killed by a drunk driver who fled the scene after hitting him with her Land Rover in Amityville late Sunday night, police said. Santos Aguirre was crossing Route 110, near Albany Avenue, when a southbound vehicle struck him and then a northbound 2020 Land Rover ran him over. The Land Rover driver, Danielle Lapersonerie, 26, of Amityville, was stopped by state troopers on the Southern Parkway and arrested for driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a fatal incident. Aguirre died at the scene.
