Auston Reudelhuber killed by box truck in North Carolina

Deputy Auston Reudelhuber, a Forsyth County sheriff’s officer, died in a head-on collision with a box truck on Highway 150 near Rob Shoaf Road in Davidson County, NC. The fatal crash occurred around 5:22 a.m. on September 16, 2023, according to the North Carolina Highway Patrol. The patrol vehicle was traveling northbound when the southbound truck crossed the center line and hit it. Deputy Reudelhuber was the only occupant of the patrol vehicle and suffered fatal injuries. No other injuries were reported. The truck driver was charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle, reckless driving, and driving left of center. The investigation is ongoing and no further details are available at this time.
