Two young Wooster residents die in head-on collision on SR-83
A fatal crash claimed the lives of two 20-year-old Wooster residents on Sept. 28, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP). The crash occurred around 4:32 p.m. on SR-83 near milepost 7 in Franklin Township.
The OSHP said a teal 1993 Dodge Stealth was traveling southbound on SR-83 when it lost control on a curve and crossed the center line. A taupe 2006 Chrysler Town and Country minivan that was going northbound on SR-83 then hit the Stealth in the opposite lane.
Both vehicles came to rest against the guardrail on the northbound side of SR-83, the OSHP said.
The driver and passenger of the Stealth, identified as Damion D. Torrence and Dalton R. Cisler of Hancock St, were both pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Town and Country, a 56-year-old Wooster woman, was taken to Wooster Community Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, the OSHP said.
