NTSB investigates Walbridge railyard worker’s fatal accident The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has issued a preliminary report on the fatal accident that occurred in a Walbridge trainyard on Sept. 17. Frederick M. Anderson, 56, of Waterville, was working as a CSX employee when he was hit by two remote-controlled trains around 3:24 a.m. He was on the Walbridge Yard lead track, near Latcha and Cummings roads in Lake Township, when a southbound train struck him. He died at the scene. The NTSB is still conducting its investigation to determine the cause and circumstances of the accident.
