Frederick M. Anderson Jr., 56 killed by train in Ohio

A train fatally struck a CSX employee early Sunday morning in Walbridge, Ohio, according to authorities. The victim was identified as Frederick M. Anderson Jr., 56, of Waterville, Ohio. He was working on an active railway track in the CSX Walbridge Yard when the train hit him around 3:40 a.m., the Ohio State Highway Patrol said. The train was traveling south at the time of the incident. The National Transportation Safety Board is sending two investigators to look into the cause of the accident. CSX officials expressed their condolences to Anderson’s family and loved ones in a statement. They said safety is their highest priority and they are cooperating with officials to determine what happened.
