A serious three-vehicle accident happened on I95 Delaware Expressway on Thursday afternoon, state police said. The accident involved a semi-truck and two other vehicles, and resulted in several injuries and traffic disruption. According to state police, the semi-truck was trying to exit the highway from the left center lane, but made an improper lane change and collided with another vehicle in the right center lane. The impact caused the second vehicle to get stuck under the truck, and both vehicles then veered across all lanes and crashed into a concrete barrier on the left side. The second vehicle was then freed from the truck and spun around, ejecting its driver and passenger onto the road. Meanwhile, the trailer of the semi-truck detached from the flatbed and flew over the center concrete barrier that separated the north and southbound lanes. The trailer then smashed into a third vehicle in the left lane on the southbound side, crushing the driver’s side and trapping the driver inside. The trailer and the third vehicle then spun out of control and hit the left side concrete barrier. State police said that all four people involved in the accident were transported to different hospitals. The driver and passenger of the second vehicle were taken to Presbyterian Hospital, while the driver and passenger of the third vehicle were taken to Jefferson Hospital.
