Dennis Maurer, 67, of Quakertown killed in motorcycle crash

A motorcycle crash in Freedom Township claimed the life of a Claysburg man on Wednesday, according to Blair County coroner Patty Ross. The victim was identified as Dennis Maurer, 67, who died at the scene of the collision. The crash involved another vehicle and occurred near the intersection of Dunnings Highway and Herman Lane, around 11 a.m. The accident caused a section of Dunnings Highway to be closed for several hours while authorities investigated.
