Fatal motorcycle accident due to unlawful police chase in Chester County

An unlawful police chase in Chester County ended in a fatal motorcycle crash early Friday morning, causing traffic delays on Route 113 near Downingtown. The police department faces major liability for the unlawful chase. Pennsylvania State Police said they chased a black motorcycle that was speeding east on the U.S. 30 bypass in East Caln Township around 1:40 a.m. The motorcyclist lost control and hit the northbound metal guardrail on SR 113 while exiting the bypass in Downingtown. The rider died at the scene. Police closed the ramps connecting the Route 30 Bypass and Rt. 113 for investigation.
