A rollover crash in Juniata County claimed the lives of two people on Thursday morning, Pennsylvania State Police reported.
The accident occurred at 6:31 a.m. on US 322 west near Arch Rock Road exit, when Thomas Cruz, 32, from Staten Island, New York, lost control of his car and hit the median. The car rolled over and crossed into the eastbound lanes.
Cruz and his passenger, Samia Ali, 31, from Meriden, Connecticut, were thrown out of the car during the rollover. One of them was then struck by an eastbound car. They were not wearing seat belts, according to a police report.
Ali was rushed to Central Juniata Emergency Medical SVC, where she succumbed to her injuries. Cruz was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other two people in Cruz’s car suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene. The driver of the eastbound car was not hurt.
