Seamus Loughran, 65, Pottsville PA killed in crash

Seamus E. Loughran, 65, of Pierce St, Pottsville, lost his life in a tragic collision on Route 183 in Penn Township on Thursday afternoon. According to state police, Loughran was driving south near Old State Road around 5:20 p.m. when another vehicle veered into his lane from the opposite direction. The two vehicles smashed into each other almost head-on. Berks County Deputy Coroner Joel Bonilla declared Loughran dead at the scene. The cause and manner of death are still under investigation. State police did not release any details about the other driver or the vehicles involved. The investigation is ongoing, with the assistance of the state police Troop L crash investigation and forensic services units.
