John Johnson, 76, of Abbeville, killed in lawnmower accident

A man dies after a lawnmower collision in Greenwood County John Johnson, 76, of Abbeville, was fatally injured in a lawnmower accident on Oct. 19, the Greenwood County Coroner’s Office said. Johnson was mowing his lawn on Deadfall Road around 7:15 p.m. when another vehicle hit him from behind. He was flown to Greenville Memorial Hospital, but succumbed to his injuries on Friday. The coroner ruled his death as an accident caused by blunt force trauma.
