Mary Asbury, Jack Finney BLVD, killed in Texas crash

A head-on collision on Farm-to-Market 1570 in Greenville claimed the life of a local woman on Oct. 14, according to the Greenville Police Department. The fatal crash occurred around 9:50 a.m. between State Highway 66 and Interstate 30, when a Chevrolet Suburban tried to overtake another vehicle in a no-passing zone and met a Chevrolet Trax coming from the opposite direction. The driver of the Trax, Mary Ann Asbury, swerved to avoid the Suburban but could not prevent the impact. She was pronounced dead at the scene, while her passenger was airlifted to Medical City Hospital in Plano with unspecified injuries. The Suburban driver and the other vehicle involved were not reported to have any injuries.
