Brenda K. Diaz-Villalobos, 68, of Staunton killed in crash

A red light violation led to a fatal crash on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, around 8:30 a.m. in Augusta County, VA. According to Virginia State Police, Christopher S. Allen, 37, of Nellysford, was driving a 2019 Nissan Altima on Tinkling Springs Road when he ran a red light and hit a 2005 Toyota Corolla on Ramsey Road. The Toyota driver, Brenda K. Diaz-Villalobos, 68, of Staunton, died at the scene of the collision. She was wearing her seat belt. The Toyota also went off the road, landing in a ditch and then on an embankment. Allen suffered minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. He had his seat belt on as well. The investigation is still underway and charges are pending.
